Privacy Policy
How we handle your information. The builder runs anonymously, with no account required and no cookies set.
BackToSchoolPlan (“BackToSchoolPlan,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is a free, public resource operated by MyTherapy LLC, doing business as Bia (“Bia,” the “Company”) — the same company that operates the Bia phobia-recovery app at biajourney.com. BackToSchoolPlan and Bia are run by one company under one set of policies.
BackToSchoolPlan itself is an informational website. The school-return plan builder runs in your browser. The suggested steps, the pattern read-out and the step breakdowns come from Bia over anonymous, stateless requests described below; nothing about you is sent with them, and the tool keeps working if they fail or are blocked. If you choose to continue to Bia and create an account, Bia’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy — which are this same company’s policies — also apply to your use of Bia.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you access or use BackToSchoolPlan, and how it is used. Please read it carefully. By using BackToSchoolPlan you agree to this Policy.
Our privacy-first approach
BackToSchoolPlan is designed to be used without an account and without giving us any personal details. You can read every page and build a whole plan anonymously. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the site, and the builder does not require you to identify yourself.
Information collected
Information you actively provide
The BackToSchoolPlan website does not ask you to create an account. To produce suggestions, the builder sends Bia the text you typed and the ratings you gave, and nothing else: no account, no email, no identifier, and no cookie. Bia’s hierarchy endpoints are stateless and write nothing to a database. Your child’s name and age, if you put them on a plan, are used only to print it and are never part of a request. If you separately contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that message.
Aggregate usage
To understand how the builder is used and to improve it, Bia may count anonymous, aggregated activity — for example, how often a suggestion was requested. These counts are aggregated for analysis and are not linked to your identity. We use this only to measure and improve the service.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, when you visit BackToSchoolPlan our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically log technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and the pages you view. This is used for security, reliability, and aggregate, anonymized usage statistics.
Cookies and local storage
BackToSchoolPlan sets no cookies. It keeps the plan you are building in your browser’s local storage, under the key btsp.plan.v2, so you can close the tab and come back; that never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data deletes it with no copy anywhere else. Share plan puts the whole plan inside the link after the # symbol, and browsers never send that part of a URL to a server — so a share link is readable by whoever you send it to and by nobody in between. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.
Third-party services
To deliver this site we rely on a small number of third parties, which may receive your IP address as a normal part of serving content to you:
- Bia (MyTherapy LLC) — answers the anonymous requests that produce the suggested steps and the pattern read-out.
- GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc. / Microsoft) — hosts and serves the website.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. Linked third-party sites are outside our control; we encourage you to review their policies.
How information is used
- To operate, maintain, and secure the website and the builder.
- To produce the suggested steps and the read-out on your ratings.
- To produce aggregated, anonymized analytics so we can understand usage and improve the builder.
- To respond to you if you contact us.
We do not sell your personal information.
Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process information on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service; to perform any service you request; and, where required, with your consent (which you may withdraw at any time).
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because the builder is anonymous and its requests carry no identifier, we are often unable to identify data as belonging to a particular individual, but we will honor valid requests to the extent we can. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@biajourney.com.
Your rights (California – CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of any “sale” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Exercising your rights will not result in different pricing or a lower quality of service. To make a request, contact us at support@biajourney.com.
Data security
We and our providers apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Bia’s systems are hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). No method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and any transmission of data is at your own risk.
Children
In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), BackToSchoolPlan is intended for a general audience and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian should manage any use by a child. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@biajourney.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date. Your continued use of BackToSchoolPlan after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
